Personas

At ADGi we think about the people who will use your site or your product. We've found that one of the best ways to do that is through research-based persona or profile development.

Based on talking to you about your users and what we can learn during direct user research, we develop personas. We find that the personas crystalize for our clients their target market and/or audience segments.

Our process is to work through the personas with our clients during a short persona workshop. We come to the workshop with our ideas of the personas, based on our research phase of the project. During the workshop we refine the personas and give them life, using our clients' expertise of their employees or customers. Then we take away that information and develop the full personas.

Once the personas are developed, they have many uses through the product's entire life cycle:

  • we use them to develop compelling design solutions
  • they are an excellent tool for developers to help them understand the reason behind the functionality they are being asked to build
  • they are great for change management, to create buy-in and generate interest
  • they are very informative for the entire company to guide decision making into the future. By having the the personification of a user type, it becomes very easy to say "How would Jane feel if we changed that functionality?"
