Analytic Design Group Inc. (ADGi), a leading user experience consulting firm based in Vancouver BC and Seattle, is looking for a User Researcher. We believe that good design is based on good research and we are fast becoming a preferred research and design firm for both local (Vancouver and Seattle) and North American firms.

We currently conduct upwards of 20 separate usability studies on mobile devices per year, as well numerous other user research studies including field research, focus groups, benchmarking studies and social media analysis.

  • A team player. You get that this isn’t about personal glory but about making stuff in the world work better for the people that have to use it and sharing your knowledge with your colleagues.
  • Intrigued by new technologies as well as new research approaches and methods.

Required Qualifications:

Master's or PhD in Human Computer Interaction, Cognitive Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Human Factors, or related field.

  • At least 5 years of experience in the technology consumer product industry conducting user research.
  • Experience with a broad range of user research methodologies including usability studies, field research, surveys, participatory design and focus groups.
  • Excellent writing and analysis skills. Demonstrated ability to visualize and present rich research data simply and clearly; articulate research findings in clear and compelling models (personas, scenarios, user models, etc)
  • Able to handle multiple high priority projects and prioritize work accordingly.
  • Able to travel in US and to Canada 4 to 8 days per month.
  • MUST be a US Citizen (or legal to work in the US) and be currently based in Seattle. (No remote workers, No relocation allowance).


Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with managing people and/or leading project teams. Ability to allocate and manage work across a number of team members.
  • Experience working as a consultant or within a consulting group
  • Experience conducting international research
  • Mobile device (phone/tablet) user research experience
  • Strong statistical analysis skills; familiarity with parametric and non-parametric statistics and the various statistical packages used for analysis (SPSS, Statistica, etc.)
