Why I Love the Mayo Clinic

Actually I've never been to a Mayo Clinic and to be honest I hope I never need to visit one. I am, however, a frequent visitor to the Mayo Clinic website. Over the last two years I've had the chance to work on design projects for a number of health-related websites and I often turn to the Mayo Clinic website for inspiration. They've obviously spent a lot of time and care on creating a comprehensive site for visitors to the Mayo Clinic as well as general users of health information.

They actually have a few related sites: the www.mayoclinic.com site is a general health information site where you can find information on diseases, treatments, drugs, procedures, first aid, and healthy living. The www.mayoclinic.org site provides information on Mayo Clinic services, information for patients and medical practitioners, and details on Mayo Clinic procedures. Finally, you can go to the Education & Research site to get the latest research and educational opportunities at the Mayo Clinic.

What do I like about these sites? They're easy to use, have a clear organization, and are professionally presented but it's the informative content that wins me over. I especially like the patient stories, the expert advice and the up-to-date research information.

These sites inspire confidence which in a health provider is exactly what you want.
