The Open Data movement is starting to see some positive returns. Listen to Tim Berners-Lee speak at Ted regarding the progress made in just one year.
It’s exciting to see how citizens are engaging with data to support transparency in government, create usable, helpful applications, and “engage” as citizens.
Canadian governing bodies at all levels are getting into the act as can be seen at visiblegovernment.ca.
ADGi is thrilled to be sponsoring an open data applications contest that will be announced later this week at the Globe 2010. We can’t wait to see what applications will come out of it, and look forward to helping developers create good user experiences that can help make our world a better place.
